EXPENSIVE Trump?

Maneuvering over paying for the TRUMP® Presidency began within days of his election & his characteristic flim-flams continue.

In Trump's first TV interview after being elected, he told Leslie Stahl "I don't even know what it is. Do you know what the salary is?"

Stahl told President-elect Trump the presidential pay is $400,000.

Trump: "No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it."

He also proposed working for only $1 (annual income one dollar)

What's wrong with this picture?

When well-positioned Trump screws up, as he and his underlings commit truly evil deeds, he'll immediately claim: (and I can already hear his voice):
"Whaddya want for a dollar?"

Trump's Oath of Office should require he repeat it three times.

Another report by Rob Goodman (link) discusses historical precedent with Presidential salaries, and why paying for Presidential services is in the public interest. Trump and his team—if he accepts only $1—already have a convenient narrative that he is too rich, or too selfless, to be corrupt. But Trump's potential for corruption is unmeasurable.

Two presidents (Hoover & Kennedy, link) have donated their Presidential salaries to others. Of course, TRUMP® is welcome to follow a similar path.
